New Pitches Update – Oswald Park

This week the club met with representatives from Angus Council to inspect and review the situation regarding the new pitches on David Moyes Road, Carnoustie.

Both parties have agreed that the turf has developed well enough that we can now plan to open the park in the summer ready for the start of the 2019/20 season.

We would again like to thank everyone involved with the project. Bill Bowles who identified the option for the community to buy the plot and worked the club to develop the plans, the late Provost Helen Oswald who worked tirelessly in the background to support us, Angus Council, SFA East Region Club Development Team, SportScotland and of course club officials, past & present for their hard work.

The new park will consist of two 11 a side pitches of two sizes which will benefit the different age groups that will play. We will purchase two pairs of weighted wheeled goals using a grant from Coop Carnoustie which will give us the best flexibility.

Following a public vote, the community selected to name the park after the late Provost Helen Oswald and Carnoustie Gala Committee will be placing a bench in her name at the park.

We are now going to look to continue plans for toilet and changing facilities in association with the SFA East Region and the Scottish Football Partnership Trust.

Thank you again to everyone in the community for your continued support of the club.
